Public transport in Turin: tickets, fares and tips
In Turin, the metro, trams and buses are run by the transport operator GTT. Here you'll find the fares, where to buy tickets and the cheaper Tour ticket for Torino Card holders.

What public transport is there in Turin?
The GTT (Gruppo Torinese Trasporti) network comprises one metro line, 8 tram lines and more than 80 bus lines in Turin and the neighbouring municipalities. One ticket is valid on all three.
- Metro: the line between Fermi (Collegno) and Bengasi is fully automated and driverless. Its stops include Porta Susa and Porta Nuova stations and Lingotto. The whole line takes about 25 minutes. All stations have lifts.
- Tram: many lines run through the centre. Line 15, for example, takes you to the lower station of the rack railway to Superga.
- Bus: the dense bus network also reaches destinations outside the centre.
- Night bus: the "Night Buster" network runs on Fridays, Saturdays and nights before public holidays.
For destinations outside the city, such as day trips into Piedmont, regional trains leave from Porta Nuova and Porta Susa.

GTT fares at a glance
The official GTT fares (as of October 2026). "Digital" means bought in the TO Move app, by contactless bank card or on the BIP smart card. Paper tickets are sold at retail outlets and ticket machines.

How to buy and validate your ticket
On board you can only pay contactless, and only on vehicles with a card reader. The easiest option is to buy before you travel.
Pay contactless (Tap&Go)
Hold your Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or Amex card against the reader at the metro turnstiles or on buses and trams with a yellow sign by the front door. This counts as a City 100 ticket for €1.90.
TO Move app
In GTT's TO Move app you can buy all digital tickets, including the day ticket and the Tour ticket, at the cheaper digital price.
Ticket machine or retail outlet
At the machines in the metro stations you can pay in cash or by card. There are also around 750 authorised GTT retail outlets in Turin.
Validate every time you board
Hold your ticket against the reader every time you board until it beeps. In the metro, the turnstile then opens. If you travel without a validly stamped ticket, expect a fine.
Torino Card: a cheaper Tour ticket
Buses, trams and the metro are not included in the Torino + Piemonte Card. Card holders can, however, buy the GTT Tour ticket at a special price:
- 48 hours: €7.00 (regular €7.80 digital, €9.50 on paper)
- 72 hours: €9.00 (regular €10.30 digital, €12.50 on paper)
- Children aged 3 to 10: €3.00
These tickets are only sold at the tourist information office, for example on Piazza Castello at the corner of Via Garibaldi. With the card you also get discounted rides on the rack railway to Superga, the Venaria Express and the Arriva airport bus.

Night buses: Night Buster
On Fridays, Saturdays and nights before public holidays, GTT's night bus lines run. The first departure from the outer terminus stops is at 0:00, the last at 4:00. From Piazza Vittorio Veneto in the centre, buses run from 1:00 to 5:00. Standard tickets are valid.

Rack railway to Superga and Venaria Express
Sassi–Superga rack railway: the historic railway runs 3.1 kilometres from Sassi up to the Basilica of Superga, climbing 425 metres on the way. You reach the lower station at Sassi by tram 15 or bus lines 61 and 68. The regular single fare is €4.00 from Monday to Friday, €6.00 return. At weekends and on public holidays it is €6.00 and €9.00 respectively. With the Torino Card you pay €4.00 return. Times change with the season: current timetable from GTT.

From the airport to the city
Turin-Caselle Airport is 16 kilometres north of the centre. You can get to the city centre by airport bus, by train to Porta Susa or by taxi.
